Naema Somo is an advocate by training, she holds an Msc in Governance from Africa Nazarene University and a graduate of the University of Nairobi in LLB. She was admitted to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2012. She has previously worked at the County government as the County Attorney from 2014-2017.
She also obtained a scholarship to study in the United States in 2013/2014 and has a graduate certificate in Strategic Peacebuilding and Leadership from Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisongburg, Virginia.
Before that she worked at Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) and did some legal practice in several law firms.
